FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation

Pamela Ayres has been in non-profit management for 13 years. She has been with FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation for 4 years and currently serves as President. In this role, she is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations as well as scheduling long-term initiatives, program growth and development, procurement of new and/or replacement equipment/supplies and spearheading all fundraising events, annual appeal and engagement with board of directors, outside resources, philanthropists, other non-profits and the community-at-large.

FAR uses the creative arts and recreational experiences as therapeutic tools to develop the potential of people with special needs as individuals, as teammates, as family members and as members of the larger community. FAR serves nearly 1200 clients of all ages and disabilities. 

Pamela is also Certified as a Protocol and Etiquette Consultant by the Protocol School of Washington, DC and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.

Pamela is a devoted mother to her newly-teenaged son, a daughter, sister and friend to many. FAR has become an extension of Pamela’s family.
