The fund has made a grant to our Literacy Project, the Fund will be putting its meeting minutes and financial statements online for the benefit of all the members, and the money raised for the water well in Uganda provided not one but three wells.

Announcements & Upcoming events:
-Chris Winans and Charles Wickins announced the start of  this years’ Masters Raffle.  Tickets were passed out to all members. There will be 300 tickets sold this year.  The short term goal is to sell 120 tickets by the end of the year.
-Bottomless Toy Chest:   Pat Grady indicated that he has 4 events scheduled for this week.  Please bring an unwrapped toy to Pat’s office in Adams Square,  Linda’s office at the Credit Union, or  to the meeting next week.
-Tweener:  Pat Grady announced that the Tweener  will be held on December 28th at at 12 noon at Dick O’Dows.  Please bring friends and family for a casual lunch and a good time.
-Holiday Party:  Marcia Wilkinson announced that our December 14 meeting will be the Holiday Party.  Marcia passed around the sign-up sheet.  The initial sign-up sheet was misplaced, so we need to insure everyone is signed up and we have an accurate count.
-Hope Warming Center: Bill Roy reported that our next date at HWC is next Tuesday, December 15th.  We still need someone to provide a vegetable to go with the ham and scalloped potatoes.  Marie Dowler graciously agreed to provide the vegetable, so we are fully covered.
-Bell Ringing: Chris McLogan reported that we have all slots covered for this Saturday, December 12 and Saturday December 19 in front of Cosi’s- but do not be deterred.  Everyone is encouraged and invited to come and participate.  Just come by when you can.
-Literacy: Norma Jean Evans reported that the literacy program is starting.  She passed out sign-up sheets for both the girls program and the 1st and 2nd grade guided reading program.

Happy Birthday to Mike Williams and John Westerheide

50/50 Raffle & Card Draw: Dave Underdown conducted the raffle.  Dan Nerad won the $13.00 daily pot.  Nobody drew the Queen of Hearts so the pot lives.

Sheriff:  Betsy Reich

Speaker Host: George Henry
Guest Speaker/Program: David Hansen, Mariners Inn.  Mariners Inn is a facility located right across from the site of the future hockey arena in Detroit.  It has been serving those suffering from homelessness and addiction since 1925, having started out serving sailors in the basement of the Mariners Church in Downtown Detroit.  It has been at its current location for 60 years. Mariners Inn has a number of programs to help integrate those who seek shelter there back into the community, and to develop coping skills to prevent relapse.  Of note is the Mariner Inn’s 4 Way Test- exactly the same as the Rotary 4 Way Test.

Song: Smile! Led by Chris Winans.

Next Meeting December 14, 2015-our annual Holiday Lunch/Party with the Seaholm Choir.  Please remember the lunch is $25.
