2 Minute Update: Chris Mc Logan on the topic of the real estate market.  The market continues to rise at a steady pace.  Housing recovery is strong and inventory is growing as more potential sellers are entering the market.  Sellers should be wary of overpricing their homes.

Announcements & Upcoming events:
1. Thank you Wendee and David Haugh and all volunteers for World Polio Day. Wendee reported that, as of last count, we raised $844.00, although we are still getting contributions.  Our efforts will be ongoing.

3. Molly Swart indicated that Danny Gopwani is not doing well health wise.  Molly asked that we please keep Danny in our prayers and send cards if we can.

4. Charles Wickins announced that the November 16th meeting will be Visitor’s Day.  Visitors will not be charged for lunch.  Members are encouraged to bring a visitor who may be interested in joining the Club, but are asked not to bring friends or family solely for the purpose of getting free lunch.  Anybody bringing a guest is asked to contact Charles so we can get an accurate lunch count to the Community House.

5. Hope Warming Center Dates, we are scheduled for November11, we still need someone to bring a vegetable and bread, and we will seek contributions for the main course next Monday.

6. Masters Tournament Raffle.  The Board voted to have the Masters Tournament Raffle again this year.  More details to follow.

Birthdays: The club sang Happy birthday to Greg Burry (October 22) and Bryan Frank (October 29).

Raffle: Was conducted by Greg Burry.  Mike Williams won the daily drawing of $15.00.  Nobody drew the 9 of spades.  The pot lives.

Sheriff: Charles Wickins

Guest Speaker:  Mathew Elliot President of Marketing, Bank of America.  Mr. Elliot’s presentation touched on several areas.  BOA’s activities in our area, include mortgage and commercial loan initiatives.  The national economy is fine, but the rate of growth is slowing, and he expects rates to remain fairly constant, with a slight rise in 2016.  Michigan economy has improved, our unemployment rate is now below the national average.  The major impediments to growth are infrastructure, (roads) education (only 20% college graduation rate) and talent ( no workers with skills to fill jobs).  Detroit is beginning to rebound, with a core downtown beginning to take shape, next goal is the neighborhoods.  BOA has a pilot program for loans in Detroit neighborhoods which will allow people to buy and rehabilitate homes, which hopefully will anchor neighborhoods.

Meeting was adjourned at 1:20 p.m.  Don’t forget to FALL BACK Saturday night.
