Vanessa G. Nelson is the founder and President of award-winning Expert Human Resources in Flint, Michigan. After consulting with thousands of employers, and saving organizations millions of dollars, Vanessa discovered a tremendous pattern of costly HR mistakes. The mistakes often led to expensive lawsuits, high-priced non-compliance fees/penalties, employee turnover, low morale, hurt profits, and damaged reputations. Being extremely passionate about improving and protecting organizations’ bottom lines and for creating great teams, Vanessa authored the book 101 COSTLY HR Mistakes...and How to Fix Them (Before It’s Too Late)! 
Vanessa is very involved in her community and is currently the HR Advocacy Captain for 5th Congressional District; and is also the President of Elite HR Professionals Association in Genesee County.
Academically, Vanessa achieved her Master's Degree in HR Management from CMU; the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI, Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM, and Certified Labor Relations Leader (CLRL) from MSU.  
Additionally, Vanessa is a contract EEO Investigator for the United States Government.
