New Member: Marsha Kovacs
Marsha Kovacs introduced herself to the Club.  Marsha grew up in Taylor where she worked on the family peach orchard, which taught her the benefits of hard work.  After graduating from MSU, she held a series of positions in the advertising business.  She then went to work for GM, in the events planning area, and was a victim of the bankruptcy.  She now works for Fleming’s Steak House, in the events planning area.  She lives in Lake Orion with her fiancee and two cats.  She was drawn to Rotary by the service opportunities, and looks forward to participating.  Welcome Marsha!

Announcements & Upcoming events:
1. Pontiac Schools.  Norma was not present, we did not have a report on program for Wednesday.  George Stern reported that Guided Reading will take place on Thursday.
2. Hope Warming Center.  Bill Roy reported that we are all signed up for March 29th (tomorrow night), and he sent an e-mail out to all who signed up.
3. Fundraising Committee Meeting: The Fundraising Committee will meet next Monday, April 4th from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. at the BBCU on Lincoln Street (Linda Hatfield’s office).  All are invited. Pizza and refreshments will be served.
4. District 6380 Assembly. Assembly will take place this Saturday, April 2nd from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Walsh College.  Cost is $20.00 which includes a box lunch.  This is a great way to learn how the district and the various clubs work.
5. District 6380 conference. This year’s conference will be held May 13-15 in Chatham, Ontario.

No Birthdays

Raffle:    Daily prize of $9.00 won by Carol Peterson.  Nobody drew the Jack of Spades, so the pot lives.

No speaker today.  As an alternative, everybody was invited to introduce themselves to the Club- when and why they joined Rotary, where they work, favorite place they have been and place they would most like to visit.  Fabulous discussion.
Chris Winans adjourned the meeting at 1:15 p.m.  Next meeting is April 4th.  Speaker will be Curtis Shewell of the Stephanie Shewell Memorial Fund.
